Bradley Pierce, 17, was involved in a car crash that left three teens injured and Garrett Johnson, 28, dead. Pierce is the son of Porter Pierce, the president and owner of Pierce Manufacturing. According to Centerville police officer Pete Wodotiniski, the accident occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. on September 6.
Both vehicles suffered damage but officials were on the scene within minutes. According to Wodotinski, it appeared that Johnson’s Mini Cooper was broadsided by Pierce’s SUV heading East on Highway 32, when Pierce ran a red light at the intersection of 32 and Country Line Rd. The three passengers in Pierce’s SUV were injured and taken to Centerville Hospital for treatment. Johnson was pronounced dead upon arrival. “We found beer cans in the SUV,” reported Sgt. Jack O’Neill.
Johnson was a former U.S. Marine who returned home from Afghanistan last year. He leaves behind a wife and 2-year-old daughter.
